Iridology is a science and art of looking at the signs in the iris tissue integrity. Unlike the homeopathy, naturapathy and reflexology, whereby only symptoms are used to reveal a health problem. Although the medicine study (allopathy) signs are used to diagnose a disease, but most of the time, symptoms are the key approach to assess a patient’s health conditions.
Iridology uses symptoms of the disease to confirm the interpretation of the signs of the health problem. Another word, it is looking into the possible underlying causes of the health problem via the integrity of the iris tissue.
What is Iridology?
Iridology is a science and art of looking at the signs in the iris tissue integrity. Unlike the homeopathy, naturapathy and reflexology, whereby only symptoms are used to reveal a health problem. Although the medicine study (allopathy) signs are used to diagnose a disease, but most of the time, symptoms are the key approach to assess a patient’s health conditions.
Iridology uses symptoms of the disease to confirm the interpretation of the signs of the health problem. Another word, it is looking into the possible underlying causes of the health problem via the integrity of the iris tissue.
Iridology does not name diseases; instead, it reads tissue condition. From that information, predispositions, tendencies and directions toward or away from these conditions are noted. Levels of toxic settlement and accumulation are observable. In this respect, iridology becomes a powerful tool for health improvement and tissue rejuvenation as well early health diagnosis.
Iridology also reveals an individual’s constitutional makeup, which is valuable information when trying to determine a person’s response to treatment and healing ability. This gives the practitioner an indication of the individual’s recuperative quality, how quickly he may proceed with treatment, and in what quantities the body can reasonably utilize these treatments.
In fact, iridology is a science that evaluates relative inherent weaknesses and strengths of organs, glands and tissues. Iridology’s greatest asset is in its ability to forewarn of approaching difficulties. We can see tissue changes occurring before symptoms occur. It is a powerful tool when working for preventive health care.
Iridology involves study of a very intricate tissue structure of the iris. There are over 90 known specific areas mapped on each iris and they are both different. The right iris responds to the right side of the body and the left responds to the left side. Therefore, they are 180 divisions to gather information from within the two iris, each smaller than a dime.
In an abnormal iris, the autonomic nerve wreath is a major landmark. Beyond within this landmark, iris is then divided into 7 zones, which feature all organs and tissues of the body:
Zone 1: Stomach
Zone 2: Intestines
Zone 3: Heart, Bronchi, Pancreas, Adrenal Gland, Pituitary Gland, Pineal Gland, Gall Bladder
Zone 4: Prostate, Uterus, Skeleton
Zone 5: Brain, Lung, Liver, Spleen, Kidneys, Thyroid etc
Zone 6: Muscles, Motor Nerves, Lymphatic, Circulation
Zone 7: Skin, Sensory Nerves
On most individuals, the areas for the lungs, kidneys, bowels and liver stand out as orientation features that attract our proximity diagnosis attention.
Iridology is based on the concept of the following:
- All organs in the body have
- Nerves
- Any impulses from any remote organ of the body will be conveyed to the brain and to the iris, and the iris changes its colour
- A person continually worry with stress will irritate the nervous system and it will be shown in the iris of the eye
- Blood and blood vessels
- Tissues
- Nerves
- Eye is part of the brain
- Eye is a projection from the brain to visualize in and out via eyes
- Inflammation and tissue integrity is the basic to health
disorders
- Acute: Red Yellow
- Chronic: Darker brown
- Degenerative: Black
- Drug settlement: Colour of the drug
- Toxin Settlement: Change the color of the iris

- The primary nutritional needs of the body
- Poor assimilation of nutrients: indicated by assimilation ring at the interior pupilary margin
- Positive and negative nutritional needs of the body: Settlements seen in the iris indicate that substances were taken into the body that could not be used as food.
- The overall health level of the body
- Compare the tissue integrity of the different organs to one another
- Resistance of disease: Iris can reveal the conditions of the adrenal area as it responsible for low blood pressure, lack of energy to the body, slowed tissue repair and deficiencies of vitamin C and adrenaline.
- Can be shown by the constitution, the overall density of the iris fibers
- Good density reflects strong recuperative power and plenty of energy for regeneration
- Poor density reflects low resistance and poor inherent ability to overcome disease and difficulties
- The inherent strength or weakness of organs, glands and tissues
- The preclinical stages of critical diseases
- The genetic influences and symptoms present: Iridology is the only science that can reveal inherited weaknesses, indicating their degrees and locations.
- A probable allergy to allergens such as wheat/gluten in the diet
- Indicate high-risk tissue areas in the body that may be progressing toward a disease: Any area that is too white or too dark is a high-risk area. Both acute and chronic areas carry a degree of risk. Disease exists in both acute and chronic forms.
- Hyperacidity or hypoacidity of organs, glands and tissues as evidence by the degree of whiteness or darkness of the area’s iris fibers. Over-acidity is indicated by an acute whiteness of the iris fibers in a blue iris and a light yellow color of the fibers in a brown iris. This can be accompanied by increased mucous production and flow, which can lead to catarrh, an inflammation of the mucous membranes.
- Sex drive
- High-risk areas: any area that is too white or too dark is a high-risk area progressing toward a disease. Disease exists in both acute and chronic forms.
- Toxicology study
- The relative amount of toxic settlement in the organs, glands and tissues
- The buildup of toxic material before the manifestation of a disease
- Pollutants
- Medications/drugs: the effects of iatrogenic conditions caused by the treatment of doctors. Iris can reveal drug settlement.
- Colorings
- Preservatives
- Miasms – discoloration of the entire iris caused by putrid matter, toxins and settlements accumulating in the tissues. A miasmic eye is sometimes called a “dishwater eye” because its iris color resembles dirty dishwater.
- Inflammation in the body
- The stage of inflammation and activity: sub-acute/acute/chronic/degenerative
- Chronic areas often contribute to more acute symptoms, as well as to lesser ones. The iris reveals acute, sub-acute and chronic areas, which are sometimes difficult to detect or locate by standard medical examination procedures
- Where inflammation is located in the body
- Bowel Conditions:
- Underactivity, or sluggishness of the bowel
- The inherently weak area exhibits ballooning, pockets or both
- Drug residues tend to settle in sluggish tissues as these tissues do not have the strength to throw them off
- Dominant minerals will probably be in short supply
- Spastic and ballooned conditions of the bowel: Spastic condition Indicated when the autonomic nerve wreath moves very close to the pupil the affected area. The ballooned condition is indicated when the nerve wreath moves further way from the pupil in the affected area.
- Prolapse of the transverse colon: Indicated by the autonomic nerve wreath falling down, or sagging towards the pupil
- The need for acidophilus in the bowel
- Inflammation and nervous condition of the bowel indicated by the ANW (autonomic nerve wreath) structure and degree of whiteness. The wreath often appears to be raised in the acute area
- Bowel pockets, ballooning of the transverse and/or descending colon, with attendant sluggishness and gas formation, are often responsible for pressure on the heart and reflex heart arrythmias.
- The inherently weak area exhibits ballooning, pockets or both
- Underactivity, or sluggishness of the bowel
- The Body’s response to treatment
- The accuracy of Herring’s Law of Cure
- Iris analysis can reveal how well the body is healing itself and at what rate: tissue integrity and a lightening of color and the appearance of healing lines
- Whether a particular program or therapy is working: A program that is working will produce healing lines, a reduction in drug deposits, clarity of the iris, decreased acidity and catarrh, etc., while a wrong therapy will not. Do not let symptoms alone be your guide, the signs of the iris is more important than anything else.
- The Quality of Nerve Force
- Contraction and condition of the Autonomic Nerve Wreath
- Appears to be raised in the acute area
- Lack of nerve energy
- Size of the pupil
- The condition of the brain areas
- Contraction and condition of the Autonomic Nerve Wreath
- Lymphatic and Circulation System
- The lymphatic rosary is a classic sign indicating widespread lymphatic congestion. However, certain areas of the body may display signs of congestive lymph without showing this more classical string-of-beads appearance
- Mental health
- The potential for senility: indicated by iris signs such as brain anemia, a cholesterol ring and other indicators of compromised circulation can suggest current or potential senility
- Stress or mental fatigue
- An enlarged pupil/not round/distorted
- Nerve rings or stress rings in the iris
- Dropped transverse colon and brain anemia, as well as a weak thyroid or adrenal glands, may also be associated with fatigue.
- The potential of the development of varicose veins in the legs
- Inherent weakness in the leg area of the iris indicates a potential for varicose veins to develop
What Iridology Can’t Show
- Blood pressure levels, blood glucose levels, uric acid levels, and other specific diagnostic findings and laboratory test results
- Which and what specific medications or drugs an individual
is using and has used in the past
- Iron is rust colored
- Sulphur is yellow colored
- Quinine is green colored in settlements
- What surgical operations a person has had, the time and cause of an injury to the body
- Diseases by name such as cancer, atheroclerosis, AIDS, syphilis, gonorrhea, gallstones, kidney stones, multiple sclerosis etc. Iridologist can only do a rough guest but can be confirmed via laboratory and medical examinations in details.
- The presence of yeast infections
- If a woman is on birth control pills or pregnant
- Iridologist cannot differentiate the difference between drug side effect symptoms and the symptoms of actual disease
- Whether irregular menstrual periods are caused by the underactive tyroid gland, but can be confirmed via further medical examination
Diagnostic signs of iridology: The normal and abnormal of an iris and pupil
Normal Iris
- No stomach ring
- No autonomic nerve wreath/sympathetic nerve wreath- relax mode
- No Raised Fibers
- No Line – Toxic Flow
- No rings
- No Holes
- Color: Clear brown/blue
- Fibres appear relaxed with a normal amount of pigment showing through from underneath
Abnormal Iris
- Stomach ring : When the stomach is good, the nerve tone is good, and it is flat.
- Autonomic nerve wreath due to stress mode
- Raised Fibers
- Lines of Toxic Flow
- Rosary Rings
- Excavated holes: inflamed or loss of tissue integrity of the iris
- Dark Brown or Dark Blue due to toxin and inflammation
- Inflamed tissues: Red Yellow in Brown Eye, White lines in Blue Eye
- Iris fibres that are not all straight, with spots representing inherent weaknesses
- Iris fibres separated from a well or a ‘hole’ indicates inherent weakness
- Cramp ring or nerve ring when the iris fibres cramp up
Normal Pupil
- Irregular size due to stress, fear, fright
- Dilated pupil: Lack of phosphorus
- Glare pupil: lack of vitamin A/beta-carotene
- Dilated pupil due to alcoholic condition

- Unequal dilated pupil – Lack of potassium (R= large, L = small)
How does the colour iris reflect?
Any nerve impulses from any remote organ of the body will be conveyed to the brain and to the iris, and the iris changes colour.
- Acute inflammation sending waves from white brown to red yellow
- Chronic phase of disease : Iris is darker
- Degenerative phase: Iris is black
- Drug settlement: colour of the drug is reflected
- Toxin settlement: changes in the colour of iris
In short, iris is the screen that registers trouble in the body caused by the following:
- Drugs
- Toxic
- Acidic condition
Question 1: Describe signs in the iris regarding tissue inflammation.
Answer:
As tissue inflammation reflects the integrity of the tissue of the iris, there are various signs to be seen physically on the iris fibres as well as the degree of whiteness of the iris.
There are four stages of inflammations that can be seen in the iris.
Stage 1: Acute inflammation
During this stage of inflammation, the fibres of the iris is raised and the colour of the iris is in either red-yellow or reddish yellow.
Stage 2: Subacute inflammation
The fibres of the iris are excavated. The colour of the iris is in dark red or dark brown colour.
Stage 3: Chronic inflammation
The fibres of the iris excavated further and deeper, but the colour of the iris at this stage is darker brown
Stage 4:
At this stage, the tissue of the iris had degenerated and knitting fibres are seen as the fibres are at excavated excessively. The colour of the iris is now in much darker brown.
Question 2: Explain the correct way of eating.
Answer:
The basic correct way of eating is to have good food and eat the right way. Good food means foods of the natural origin of which are free from pesticides, grown on a good soil and contains sufficient protein (and comprises all essential amino acids), carbohydrate (with sufficient amount of dietary fibres - complex carbohydrates), fats (preferably the unsaturated one and contains sufficient amount of essential fatty acids), vitamins and minerals.
After having good foods, foods must be eaten in the right way. In order to this, we must first consider the wavelength concept of foods. Not all the foods are advised to be taken together. Different foods with different wavelengths should be taken separately as they may counter neutralizing each other and efficiency of the digestive system is affected. For example, fruit cannot be taken together with vegetables.
Another example, when selecting a meat in a carbohydrate rich diet, it shouldn’t be mixed with more than one type of meat dishes, which means if chicken is the meat selected, other food such as fish or beef or mutton whatsoever, shouldn’t be taken at the same time in the same serving. If we still like the meats to be taken, they have to be taken on an interval periods (preferably half an hour) after the first serving.
Besides having good food eating the right way, we must drink sufficient water daily at least 8 glasses. However, while eating, making sure no drinking as it may dilute the Hydrochloric acid in the stomach that subsequently affects enzymes in the stomach to work efficiently and leads to indigestion. Water must be drunk with empty stomach in the early morning to help body flush out the toxic waste.
